How I created Maria Feminista

Elsa Peixoto
When I created Maria Feminista, I created it for myself, I was inspired by my essence, by what makes me vibrate, what motivates me every day, I wanted to put my voice.

It can be a challenge to understand all our characteristics, because we are so many things, so complex, so multifaceted, sometimes we even feel confused in this process of self-knowledge. But each part of us has a reason, an explanation, and together they shape us and that builds our personality.

"Woman because I feel it, feminine because I chose it, feminist because it has to be." This phrase, without a doubt, is a statement that resonates with me. It captures the essence of what I believe and what I stand for. It conveys the importance of respect for gender ideology, the fact that being a feminist is a necessity, a constant fight for gender equality, and nothing stops me from being super feminine, wearing what I want, going out on the street confident and being respected. Sexism, patriarchy, or any other threat to freedom have no place in my life.

Maria Feminista is a reflection of self-discovery and empowerment. The embroidery and the word chosen represent all of this, sending a powerful, feminist and feminine message. When I use this wallet (almost every day), I feel connected to a world of strong, inspiring women fighting for women's rights and empowerment. It's a constant reminder of my commitment to amplifying women's voices, championing equality, and celebrating diversity. It is a way of expressing individuality, worldview and convictions. Together, we can create a world where all women are valued, respected and free to be who they are.

Therefore, I invite you to undertake an exercise in self-knowledge and self-expression. The Maria basket can be an extension of your own voice and a constant reminder of the power you have within you.

Be inspired by yourself, be yourself, embrace your convictions and if it makes sense to you, we are here to help you give your voice to your Maria.
